FAQs
Frequently asked questions about this tour.
What is the Booking/Cancellation Policy?
When you book your boat tour we reserve your spot and remove it from the calendar and do not let others book it. A $250 deposit is taken and your reservation request is reviewed to make sure everything is in order for you to have the best experience possible. Upon confirmation you will be charged the balance of the tour and will receive a confirmation email with tour details.
Cancellations can be made up to 48 hours of your tour for a refund minus the deposit. We are not equipped to accept same day cancellations or no shows. Cancellations within 48 hours and no shows are responsible for full tour amount. If the tour is cancelled by our captain due to weather you will receive a full refund.
All tour cancellations need to be made by phone at 904-500-8687. We can not accept cancellations through email or text to ensure we do not miss any guest updates.
What happens when we cancel a tour due to weather?
Full refund for tours cancelled by captain due to weather. We always have an eye on the weather and will be in touch if it will affect your tour. Our coastal Florida weather is very isolated and forecasts are not very accurate until just hours ahead. If your tour will be impacted by the weather we will be in touch with updates. We will ask if there is another day you would like to tour with us, if not, you will receive a full refund.
Where do we meet for Amelia & Cumberland Island boat tour?
3 South Front Street, Fernandina Beach, Florida 32034. This is the Downtown Fernandina Beach City Marina. There is plenty of free parking in one of the three parking areas along the waterfront. Your captain will meet you at the boat which is on the first dock directly to the left of Brett’s Waterway Cafe. This is Dock F. You can also find our sign and the boat is directly above it.
Can you can take more than 28 passengers? What if I have a child?
United States Coast Guard regulations allow for up to 28 guests on Miss Amelia. We can not take more than 28 guests. If you have a child they do count as a person.
What do we wear/bring for our boat tour?
Wear comfortable clothes for the day’s weather and for being on the water. Feel free to bring any snacks, food and drink you want for your family and friends. Alcohol is allowed but no red wine please 🙂
Do we get out on Cumberland Island?
We do not disembark the boat at Cumberland Island. Cumberland Island is managed as a national park. Charter captains are not allowed to drop guests off onto the Cumberland Island National Seashore.
With this being said, we are able to cover more ground with more opportunities to see the wild horses and other wildlife as we explore the island by boat.
Are lifejackets required/provided?
Miss Amelia is a US Coast Guard inspected vessel and our guests are not required to wear life vests however there are life jackets onboard for everyone.
Do we need to be early?
We are simply meeting at the boat and stepping aboard. If you want to be a little early that is fine but we may still be preparing for your arrival up until the meet time.
